The Florentine Medici Route and other trails around Florence

The Via Medicea Fiorentina (Florentine Medici Route)  is the latest addition to the network of walking trails that start or end in Florence, promoting slow, sustainable tourism.

The Florentine Medici Route starts from Villa Medici in Fiesole and, following the common thread of the Medici residences—which have recently been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site—winds its way for 84 kilometers between Florence and Prato, through varied and heartwarming landscapes, surrounded by nature and art.

The villas along this route are Villa Medici, Pratolino Park, Cafaggiolo, Il Trebbio, and, in the Prato area, Poggio a Caiano and Artimino.

Like all the other routes listed below, this one can be covered in its entirety or divided into several shorter sections, suitable for all levels of fitness.
