After Venice and Rome, the German artist Dieter Nuhr comes to Florence for the first time with his personal exhibition "Elsewhere is Everywhere" at the Galleria delle Carrozze in Palazzo Medici Riccardi from 1 May to 2 June 2025.
The artist's works reflect on the potential of art as a tool for environmental awareness. The exhibition features around 40 works, including paintings and drawings, created using mixed techniques, combining digital tools and acrylic painting. Indeed, Nuhr explores the theme of the beauty of the world and the need for sustainable development with images that recall places such as Sudan, Thailand, Senegal, Bhutan and India, countries of exotic flowers and children from faraway lands, while some works pay homage to Florence.
In his digitally manipulated photographs, there is a fusion with painting techniques that attract the visitor's attention and invite him to reflect on diversity as a fundamental value in both nature and art. This diversity is also reflected in the techniques and materials used: the artist superimposes seemingly incompatible elements to tell of landscapes to be preserved and to portray people from different social and ethnic backgrounds. In this way. Nuhur's art creates a link between distant times and places, reproducing universal beauty and using an artistic language in line with the values promoted by UNESCO.
