Following the opening date in Empoli, the tour continues on Wednesday 30 September at the Church of Santa Felicita in Florence, and on Thursday 1 October 2026 at Castello dell’Acciaiolo in Scandicci.
Taking to the stage will be the string quartet of I Solisti di Toscana Classica, joined by accordion and bandoneon player Giancarlo Palena, an internationally acclaimed concert performer and winner of international awards, including the Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award.
Adding a special touch to the evening will be the dance troupe of the Special Angels Dance School, founded by Virginia and Martina Di Carlo, which has for years promoted courses and activities involving students with disabilities.
The programme takes audiences on a journey through the finest works of Astor Piazzolla, who distilled from the tango born in the barrios of Buenos Aires a modern and original sound, combining tradition with jazz and contemporary classical avant-garde. The programme is completed by works by Italian composers, including Ennio Morricone, whose music opens the evening, and Nino Rota, with a medley tracing his long artistic partnership with Federico Fellini and Roberto Molinelli.
