Atmospheres of the 1920s - Music in museums

Classical music, opera and ballet

On Sunday, April 26th, 2026, “Musei in Musica” festival is back with an event dedicated to the exhibition Firenze Déco. Atmospheres of the 1920s, curated by Lucia Mannini and currently on display at Palazzo Medici Riccardi.

An immersion into the sophisticated atmosphere of the era begins with an introduction to the exhibition: a journey where the beauty of Gio Ponti’s ceramics, the graphic style of Lucio Venna, and the timeless elegance of Ferragamo and Gucci blend with the sound textures of the duo composed of Michelangelo Lazzareschi (flute) and Nazareno Caputo (vibraphone), which participants will be able to enjoy in the Hall of Mirrors.

The choice of flute and vibraphone directly evokes the instrumental innovation of the period: the former was reaching its peak in technical and solo development during those years, while the latter was emerging on the musical scene as a newly invented instrument.

The project is curated by Mus.e and La Filharmonie – Florence Philharmonic Orchestra. Reservation is required: info@palazzomediciriccardi.it, +39 055 2760552.
