Florence in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s – Images from the Foto Locchi Archive

Exhibitions

The 150 photographs from the Foto Locchi Archive, the historic agency founded in 1924 by Tullio Locchi, do not only document news events, but also capture the very soul of Florence and its inhabitants, along with their historical, political and social transformations.

From the optimistic Florence of the 1950s, when the city emerged as a hub of international fashion, to the 1960s, marked by the tragic flood of 1966 and the first waves of protest, through to the 1970s, a complex period from both an urban and cultural perspective.
