Haley Mellin - We are Nature

From 24 June to 29 October, the Museo Novecento in Florence is hosting the first solo exhibition in a museum of the American artist and environmentalist Haley Mellin, recognised for her commitment to painting and land conservation.

Haley Mellin, founder of the non-profit Art into Acres initiative which has mobilised artists to support the protection of over 30 million hectares of primary forest, creates works depicting the very landscapes she helps to protect. Her paintings are characterised by an attention to detail and an almost evanescent style that highlights the richness and natural variety of the environments depicted.

This exhibition in Florence intends to showcase Mellin's unwavering dedication to defending nature, which he brings to both his artistic practice and his environmental projects. The exhibition brings together a selection of her works, including paintings, drawings, and sketchbooks, alongside evidence of her environmental activism, emphasising the connection between the two.
