Luglio Bambino 2026

From 6 to 19 July 2026, the “Luglio Bambino” festival returns for its 32nd edition. The event, organised by the Municipality of Campi Bisenzio and directed by the Fondazione Accademia dei Perseveranti, is dedicated to all children and families and will feature 75 events across 8 municipalities, involving over 40 organisations, including theatre performances (with three national premieres), music, cinema, circus, literature, workshops and games, featuring new productions, storytelling sessions, juggling, meetings with authors, emotional education, wooden toys, calligraphy, papier-mâché, treasure hunts, stargazing and seed-sowing workshops.

Next up, the second edition of “Settembre Bambina” is scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 September 2026.

Squares, gardens, streets, cultural venues and beyond will provide the backdrop for multidisciplinary activities. The overarching theme of this year’s festival, “Imagination! No Boundaries!”, is dedicated to intergenerational dialogue and the reciprocal relationship between imagination, the transmission of knowledge and participation. The programme reflects this focus through a selection of performances and activities in which children and adults share experiences built around artistic languages that are accessible but not oversimplified. All events are free for children; only the evening performances require a contribution of €3 per adult, as a gesture of participation and awareness.

To go into more detail, ‘Luglio Metropolitano’ is scheduled to take place from 6 to 10 July 2026, passing through Signa, Lastra a Signa, Sesto Fiorentino, Calenzano, Scandicci, and Districts 4 and 5 of Florence, and – new for this year – Greve in Chianti as well, featuring performances, workshops, animated readings and other events. The programme also includes ‘Cine al volo’, an open-air cinema coming to the community centres in the hamlets of Campi Bisenzio, aboard a red Ape van.

The initiative is sponsored by the Region of Tuscany and the Metropolitan City of Florence, in collaboration with the Municipality of Campi Bisenzio, the Metropolitan City of Florence and the municipalities of Calenzano, Greve in Chianti, Lastra a Signa, Scandicci Open City 2026, Sesto Fiorentino, Signa, and Q4 and Q5 in Florence, with the support of the I Gigli Shopping Centre, ChiantiBanca, and Pro Campi – the Campi Bisenzio local tourist board.
