Modernity can build in a different way. Gae Aulenti and Tuscany

Exhibitions

From 18 September to 18 November 2025,Palazzo Medici Riccardi will host an exhibition dedicated to the architect and designer Gae Aulenti. From 4 October, a second section of the exhibition will also open at the CAMBIO Cultural Centre in Castelfiorentino.

A selection of drawings, photographs and models of specially created projects, accompanied by digital narratives, created with the participation of students from the MII and the School of Architecture of the University of Florence.

The choice of two exhibition venues, Palazzo Medici Riccardi and CAMBIO Cultural Centre in Castelfiorentino, reflects the multifaceted nature of Aulenti's work. The rooms in Florence house her main projects for the city and the Tuscan region, while CAMBIO offers an in-depth look at her work in Castelfiorentino and on the theme of residence.

The exhibition is promoted by Fondazione Architetti Firenze (FAF), Master Museo Italia (MII) of the University of Florence, Archivio Gae Aulenti in Milan, and is supported by Città Metropolitana di Firenze, Fondazione Cambiano, and Fondazione MUS.E.
