Restoration of Masaccio’s Trinity Completed: A Full Day of Celebrations on April 24

Special Openings, tours and workshops

After three years of complex and meticulous work, the restoration of Masaccio’s Trinity, one of the most important masterpieces of the early Renaissance, has officially been completed. The artwork, housed in the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella in Florence, is now fully accessible once again thanks to a careful intervention carried out with close attention to both its conservation needs and its historical and artistic significance.

The restoration marks a major milestone, not only for the material recovery of the fresco, but also for the return to the community of a heritage of extraordinary cultural, artistic, and spiritual value.

To celebrate the completion of the works, a full day of events will take place on April 24, featuring two distinct moments designed to highlight both the institutional and cultural dimensions of the initiative, offering the public a complete experience in which art, faith, history, and music come into dialogue, allowing for a renewed contemplation of a masterpiece that continues to speak to the present.
