Musei Toscani per l'Alzheimer

Without barriers

During the last years, many museums in Italy developped specific itineraries for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and their carers. Musei Toscani per l’Alzheimer is a project involving various Tuscan museums offering special activities.

Museum operators, healthcare professionals operating in nursing homes and geriatric staff were trained to become cultural operators with specific competences and let people with such a disability discover the pleasure of art and museums.

In Florence, these are the museums participating to the project Musei Toscani per l’Alzheimer: Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, i Musei Civici Fiorentini / Associazione MUS.E, Museo Casa Rodolfo Siviero, Museo di Storia Naturale, Museo e Istituto Fiorentino di Preistoria "Paolo Graziosi" and Museo Marino Marini. Moreover, in the surroundings of Florence, visits are also available at BeGo, Museo Benozzo Gozzoli in Castelfiorentino and MuDEV, Museo diffuso dell’Empolese Valdelsa.
