Campagna intorno a Babrerino Tavarnelle

Walking around Barberino Tavarnelle

The Metropolitan City of Florence
By walk & by bike

There are six loop routes that the Municipality of Barberino Tavarnelle, in collaboration with the Florence section of CAI, has located and mapped in its own area. Six itineraries that allow tourists, and not only them, to discover this part of the Chianti area, between nature and culture.

The routes, in fact, are divided among the ways of water, along the Pesa river and the weirs of the Agliena stream, also described by Leonardo da Vinci in his codexes;  the nature trails, such as the natural protected area of local interest of the Badia a Passignano and, finally the historical routes, to discover the hamlets of the area and the legends related to San Giovanni Gualberto, founder of the Vallombrosians order who is buried right in the Badia di Passignano.
