Wood

The history of woodworking is significantly intertwined with the history of the city. It is here, in the cradle of the Renaissance and the new forms proposed by Humanism, that wood is worked in geometric and symmetrical forms, anticipating the urban designs of the new cities.

But the working of this material did not stop at that moment, it was able to adapt to the times, and it is always here, in Florence, that the first inlays with a baroque flavour were created, a complex creation of soft lines that lead to artefacts with an opulent appearance.
Even today frames, furniture and objects are still made by hand using the most ancient techniques, transforming every single piece into a true work of art.
