The upper part of the city of Signa, the Castle, constitutes the oldest core of the city - founded around the year 1000 - and looks surrounded by remains of 14th-century walls, with imposing towers and the gateway.
Peculiar are the narrow streets of the Castle, with homes decorated with flowered balconies, alternated with remains of the city walls.
The streets near the walls of the Castle are rather narrow and sometimes steep.
You can walk or drive around, but being very careful.
