Ice house in Montesenario

At the foot of the hill on which the Convent of Montesenario (Vaglia) stands this cylindrical building. It was the largest ice house in Europe, and today it is a building in need of restoration.

The ice house was used to store precious ice, its cylindrical shape favoured temperature conservation.
