Museo and Galleria Mozzi Bardini
Architectures and monuments
Mozzi Palace, built between 1266 and 1273, a union of several houses and towers, looks like a medieval building even if its appearance is not completely authentic. Over the centuries, in fact, the facade has undergone many changes. Today the Palace is an extraordinary backdrop to the square named after the Mozzi, with its severe and long facade with small square drafts, interrupted in the center by the high crenellated tower. In the center of the facade stands out a large shield with the coat of arms of the Mozzi, the golden cross of Toulouse in red field.
Today the Palace houses Direzione regionale musei della Toscana and the Segretariato regionale del Ministeroper i beni e le attività culturalie per il turismo.
