San Miniato a Quintole Church

Points of interest
Churches and places of worship

The church is located near the fifth milestone of the Cassia Road variant and it is mentioned as a possession of the Impruneta Parish Church in an edict by Pope Adrian IV of November 29 1156.

In the 15th century the church was elevated to a priory and on that occasion the rectory was built. In 1519 the patronage passed to the Rossi family that had three altars built for the church. Like many churches in the province of Florence it was suppressed in 1986 and annexed to the Impruneta Sanctuary. Outside it is surrounded by a portico and the inside has a Latin cross plan. The access portal is of the Romanesque period. Inside, in the left arm of the transept, it features a fragment of a 14th century fresco portraying the Madonna with Child.
