A new large green space has been created in the municipality of Bagno a Ripoli, between Giardino I Ponti and the settlement of Sorgane. This is the Sorgane Urban Park, which was opened on 21 March 2026.
A nine-hectare area of meadows and mature trees; wooden walkways for eco-friendly access; spaces to be allocated to local organisations; and the future installation of benches, tables and facilities for games or sports (such as table tennis tables). The site, which is wholly owned by the local council, forms part of an urban regeneration project. It was a disused and derelict agricultural area that has been fully restored for public use.
