Composed of a villa, a formal garden, a park, olive groves and a wooded area, the Villa Peyron complex at the Fontelucente Wood is located in a panoramic position overlooking Florence. The garden is divided into several terraces sloping towards Florence with box parterres along the southern axis of the Villa. The first terracedates back to the time of the Twentieth-Century transformation of the villa by Angelo Peyron, while the other working activities in the park were carried out later by his son Paolo starting from the middle of the Twentieth Century.

The Villa was presumably built on Etruscan ruins and, over the centuries, it was renovated and transformed until it took on its present appearance thanks to architect Ugo Giovanozzi. The name "At the Fontelucente Wood" is taken from the presence of a florid wood, from which both Italian-style gardens and a Sixteenth-Century spring placed above the villa emerge; this spring provides the necessary water to operate several fountains and a lake.
