Historical re-enactment of the blessed wine offering to the Florentine Signoria that takes place every year on the 4th Saturday of the month of September. The history of this event goes a long way back and remembers when, in past centuries, the wine from Rufina reached Florence with a caravan of carts, each loaded with 2000 flasks stacked in a pyramid ("a cesta") by skilled artisans.
As usual, then, in Florence the cart full of wine, the so-called "Carro Matto", will be brought to Piazza della Signoria with the traditional parade of the Florentine Republic and the County of Rufina.
The historical cortege of the Florentine Republic starts from Palagio di Parte Guelfa, via Porta Rossa, Mercato Nuovo, via Vacchereccia to piazza della Signoria where it joins the traditional "cart" carrying the wine produced in the vineyards of Rufina.
Here wine blessing by the religious authorities, then the cart will be drawn along via Calzaiuoli. At the Church of San Carlo dei Lombardi: offer of the wine ampoule. Piazza Signoria-wine offer, performance of the flag-wavers. At the end the cart is drawn back along via Calzaiuoli to piazza del Duomo, via Martelli, via Cavour.

The following is the planned route:
- 2:30 p.m. Procession of the Florentine Republic will start from Piazzetta di Parte Guelfa Via Pellicceria, Via Brunelleschi, Via dei Pecori, Piazza San Giovanni,Piazza del Duomo - Sacrati Strozzi, joining the Corteo del Carro Matto and with the Historical Procession of the Wine and the Contado di Rufina;
- 3.15 p.m. stop for the Blessing of the Wine in Piazza Duomo, continuation from P.za del Duomo, Via Calzaiuoli;
- 3.45 p.m. stop at the Church of San Carlo dei Lombardi and offering of the Ampulla of wine; Via dei Lamberti, Via Calimala, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Roma, Piazza San Giovanni;
- 4.15 pm in P.zza Duomo - Sacrati Strozzi, the Wine Offering to the City Authorities;
- 4.30 p.m.: performances by the Musicians of the Historical Procession of the Florentine Republic and the Uffizi Flag Wavers - return of the Carro Matto and the vehicles to the Rufina, and return to the Palagio di Parte Guelfa by the Procession of the Florentine Republic,Via Calzaiuoli, Via degli Speziali, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Pellicceria, P.zza di Parte Guelfa.
