Fades - Matching the Time AT MAD - Murate Art District

The exhibition Dissolvenze, scheduled from May 15th to August 2nd at MAD - Murate Art District, invites visitors to reflect on a concept of time that goes beyond conventional measurements and is perceived through the traces left by nature: focusing on natural transformations, the breath of plants, the flow of water, and the continuous change of matter.

The exhibition uses immersive and site-specific installations, where water represents the central element and becomes a symbol of life, memory, and becoming. The Arno, in particular, serves as the connecting thread between Florence and its landscape: the first environment encountered in the exhibition is an inverted, immersive, and sensory space, where a garden takes on the appearance of a vegetal vault beneath the arches, evoking the Third Garden, created along the Arno for the Riva project, where humans become part of the landscape. The subsequent works, placed in the cells, present three installations that offer alternative images of the Arno and its habitat: seeds, leaves, fragments collected along the river, plants tracing their profiles through light, imprinting them onto transparent paper in a vegetal drawing, or brass, iron, and steel plates exposed to light and rain under some plants in the gardens and along the banks of the Arno, bearing the impressions of plants as organic relics.
