Palazzo Pazzi - Quaratesi
Palazzo Pazzi - Quaratesi is an elegant Renaissance building closely linked to the history of Florence.
Built to a design by Giuliano da Maiano between 1458 and 1469 on behalf of Jacopo dei Pazzi, it was confiscated from the family after the conspiracy against Lorenzo and Giuliano dei Medici.
Subsequent owners were the d'Estonville family and then the Cybo Malaspina family, who lived there in the 16th century.
In 1594, it was purchased by the Strozzi family, while in 1760 it was acquired by the Quaratesi family..
In 1850, the building was the seat of the Supreme Court of Cassation, while during the five years that Florence was the capital of Italy, it was the seat of the Prussian consul.
n 1913, the Bank of Florence acquired the palace, and it was during this Art Nouveau period that interesting architectural and artistic interventions were carried out by Adolfo Coppedè and the Chini brothers (Galileo and Chino).
Finally, in 1931, it passed to the National Social Welfare Institute (INPS), which still occupies it today.
