
Pieve dei Santi Pietro e Paolo in Coiano
The parish church of Saints Peter and Paul is a building of Romanesque origin located along the Via Francigena between the towns of San Miniato and San Gimignano, the first documents of this church date back to 'year 1029 with the title of Pieve.
The Pieve has a Romanesque style, and is made of sandstone and brick, inside you can find beautiful frescoes from the fourteenth century while the baptismal font and the altar date back to 1600, these are the only works of Baroque style remaining in the whole church.
Every second Saturday of the month, a guided tour of the interior and exterior of the parish church is organised, led by an expert restorer, at a cost of €15.00 per person.
At the end of the tour, each participant is given a box containing products from a historic bakery in Castelfiorentino.

The parish church is open every secondi Saturday of the month from 9 am to 1 pm.
