From July 4 to October 18, 2026, the Municipality of Scarperia and San Piero, coordinated by the Scarperia Pro Loco, is organizing the annual "Mostra dei Ferri Taglienti" (Exhibition of Cutting Tools). This exhibition has been held in Scarperia for over 50 years, and its aim is to display splendid blades in the Palazzo dei Vicari, highlighting their connection to the history of Scarperia.
Each edition varies from the previous one, and strives to bring ever-changing and original blades to Scarperia. In 2026, the collaboration with the Royal Museums of Turin returns: the exhibition "Steel Jewels. Decorative Aspects in European Swords from the Royal Armory of Turin" aims to explore the decorative techniques applied to steel in European swords held at the Turin museum. The exhibition will feature nine examples chosen to represent the variety of ornamental solutions that could enrich a blade or its mounting elements. The aim is to offer the public a significant sample of the plurality of decorative processes that over the centuries have transformed instruments of mere offense into artefacts of high artistic value.
