Springtime show of flowers and plants

The Giardino dell'Orticultura (Horticultural Garden), a public park located just outside the city centre, has hosted an exhibition of plants and flowers for over 170 years: the spring edition takes place from 25 April to 3 May.

It is a very popular event with Florentines and tourists alike, because of the joyful spring atmosphere. It is in fact a rich floral exhibition with many unusual, local and collectable varieties presented by more than 75 exhibiting nurserymen from all over Italy.

The Giardino dell'Orticultura is a very interesting space, especially for the eye-catching presence of Giacomo Roster's glass and iron greenhouse, which during the flower exhibition is surrounded on all sides by colourful indoor and outdoor plants.

The exhibition is free of charge.
