The GAMPS geopaleontological collection in Scandicci, near Florence, is a permanent exhibition displaying a large collection of geological and paleontological findings.

The collection stems from the activity of the volunteers of the Gruppo Avis Mineralogia e Paleontologia di Scandicci and is housed in the former school of Badia a Settimo, today civic centre Ofelia Mangini.

Displayed in the cabinets of the exhibition are paleontological findings discovered by the group of volunteers (dolphins, whales, mammoths, sharks and many fossils), among which stands out a nine metres long whale that was found in Castelfiorentino, in the province of Florence: the most complete whale fossil skeleton ever discovered in Europe, only specimen of the species worldwide, dating back to the Pliocene epoch. You can also have a look at the collection of minerals given by the Pellegatta family.
