Gregorian Chants concert in Santa Croce - Viri Galilaei Choir

The Coro Viri Galilaei, directed by Enzo Ventroni, will perform inside the Basilica of Santa Croce on April 1st 2026. The choir’s program features a mini-series focused on the most significant liturgical seasons and festivities. The event on Wednesday, April 1st, will center on the Passion of Christ.

The program of chants is drawn primarily from the 'Proper' of the Palm Sunday liturgy (notably the Tractus Deus, Deus meus), from the Missa in Coena Domini (the Antiphons Nos autem gloriari oportet, Ubi Caritas, Dominus Jesus, and Maneant in vobis), and from pieces (mostly Responsories) taken from the Nocturns of the Easter Holy Triduum (Omnes amici mei, Caligaverunt oculi mei, In monte Oliveti, Judas mercator pessime, etc.).
