Red, White, Blue, Fond Embrace – Never Forget 9/11

From September 11 to 20, 2025, the Oblate Library will host an exhibition by Chilean-American artist Rodrigo E. Villarroel entitled “Red, White, Blue, Fond Embrace – Never Forget 9/11,” a tribute to the victims of September 11, 2001, in New York and to the Italian-American community. The exhibition also commemorates the victims of September 11, 1973, in Santiago, Chile, and those who lost their lives during the dictatorship until 1990.

The works were first presented at Ground Zero, New York, and have now arrived in Florence for a moment of collective remembrance and reflection. They consist of four large oil paintings dedicated to the American firefighters, medical personnel, and police officers involved in the rescue operations.

The exhibition will be open until Saturday, September 20, at the Biblioteca delle Oblate, in the Sibilla Aleramo Conference Room.
