Gonnelli Antiquarian Bookshop: 150 years in publishing (1875–2025)

Exhibitions

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Libreria Antiquaria Gonnelli, from October 21 to December 19, 2025, the Marucelliana Library in Florence will host the exhibition “150 Years of Publishing by Libreria Antiquaria Gonnelli (1875–2025),” dedicated to the long publishing history of today's antiquarian bookshop, auction house, publishing house, and art gallery, one of the oldest and most prestigious cultural institutions in the city.

The exhibition, curated by Roberto Maini, Marco G. Manetti, Gloria Manghetti, and Maria Beatrice Sanfilippo, in collaboration with the Marucelliana Library, presents an extensive documentary journey retracing a century and a half of publishing activity: letters, purchase registers, and archival documents from 1886 to the present day.

Free admission.

Gonnelli Antiquarian Bookshop: 150 years in publishing (1875–2025)

Exhibitions

A selection of 46 works documents the evolution of Gonnelli's publishing output, from Giuseppe Manuzzi's linguistic pamphlets and Angelo De Gubernatis' Dizionario degli artisti italiani viventi (Dictionary of Living Italian Artists, 1889) to Aldo Gonnelli's art publications and the avant-garde editions promoted by Ferrante Gonnelli, publisher and driving force behind early Florentine Futurism.
