Weill - Songs at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino

Weill - Songs is the concert scheduled for 13 September 2026 at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, featuring the Orchestra del Maggio conducted by Timothy Brock and Drusilla Foer as voice. The programme is dedicated to Kurt Weill, one of the most distinctive composers of the twentieth century, and places his music in dialogue with George Gershwin’s celebrated symphonic poem An American in Paris.

The evening opens with the suite from The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, followed by a selection of songs drawn from Weill’s operas and Broadway works and some of his most beloved pieces, including Alabama Song, Speak Low, September Song, Surabaya-Johnny and Youkali.
