Music in the museums

A music festival, enhanced by themed tours, taking place at a series of the city’s extraordinary museums, from September 20 to December 20, 2026.

Forte Belvedere, the Cappellone degli Spagnoli in Santa Maria Novella, the Museo Novecento, and Palazzo Vecchio will resound with the music of the Ensemble Filharmonie, featuring a repertoire that engages with the respective venues and the themes of the guided tours.

• September 20 – Forte Belvedere

Soffio di seta - FEM Duo – Mariachiara Leonetti, guitar; Giada Moretti, saxophone. An all-female musical dialogue, set against the backdrop of the “Forte” and its breathtaking views. Times: 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

• October 18 – Santa Maria Novella, Cappellone degli Spagnoli

Ensemble Cappella Semifonte. A tour and concert exploring 16th-century Florence and the sounds of Tuscan and Spanish traditions. In the former Chapter House of Santa Maria Novella—adorned with 14th-century frescoes by Andre Bonaiuti—Eleonora of Toledo (wife of Grand Duke Cosimo I de’ Medici) and the Spanish community in her entourage attended liturgical services.

• November 15 – Museo Novecento

The Origin of the Wind. Transverse flute trio. The musical repertoire will engage in a dialogue with the suspended, ethereal intimacy of the works by Mc Kinney, Fugazza, and Man, as well as those from the Alberto Della Ragione Collection.
