Some accommodation facilities communicate these data to the offices in charge on behalf of their guests.

WHEELCHAIR USERS: Florence city centre as well as many other historical cities, can present some objective difficulties for visitors with reduced mobility: moving from one place of interest to another it is not always so easy (in the oldest part of the city sometimes the sidewalks are narrow and the surfaces of both streets and sidewalks can be uneven).
So, to avoid architectural barriers, it may be useful to consult Kimap, the App that shows disabled people paths. App download: Apple Store, Google Play.
If you want to discover the city download also Passepartour (4 itineraries in the historic centre, fully accessible for wheelchair users) at the following link.

BY TAXI   In Florence there are two Taxi Companies:  So.Co.Ta. (Tel. +39 055 4242 - www.4242.it) and Co.Ta.Fi (Tel. +39 055 4390 - www.4390.it). If a vehicle equipped for the transport of wheelchair users is required, it is advisable to book well in advance. Disabled passengers who use the taxi service have a 15% reduction on common fares. An equipped vehicle is available at the Santa Maria Novella train station: just ask the first taxi driver in line.

BY BUS AND BY TRAM: Bus (Autolinee Toscane company)  and tram (GestTramvia company) vehicles are accessible and have dedicated stations. Buses are equipped with mobile platforms, while trams have no difference in height between the sidewalk and the tram floor. Info about routes, timetables, tickets at AT and GEST.

BY TRAIN: For information about accessibility / customer care for disabled people at the train stations in Florence check Trenitalia Website or contact +39 02 323232 (landline and mobile phone) or 800 906060 (only landline in Italy). At Santa Maria Novella Train Station, the service (h. 7.45 e le 22.30) can be required on site at the Sala Blu (platform number 5) or by phone, at least 1 hour before departure/arrival of the train. Email: salablu.firenze@rfi.it

BY PLANE: Florence Airport offers multiple facilities to passengers with reduced mobility. They can ask for assistance at the airport previously informing the Airline/travel agency/tour operator that reserve their flight. Passengers may advise the airport of their arrival at the terminal via the external call points or at the check-in desks (at least 1 hour before departure of their flight) to be accompanied throughout the necessary pre-flight procedures and at arrival. For further information, please check the PRM page on Toscana Aeroporti Website for both airports of Florence and Pisa
