68th Wine Festival in Montespertoli

The historic event in Montespertoli, hitherto known as the Mostra del Chianti, returns for its 2026 edition from 31 May to 6 June 2026 with a complete rebranding and image overhaul, ready to write a new chapter in a history spanning almost seventy years. It will be called the Festa del Vino. It is not merely a name change: it is a statement of intent. 

The layout of the historic centre will change during the festival. Piazza Machiavelli will be dedicated exclusively to the Contrade, with games, competitions and prize-giving ceremonies. The main evening shows and events will move to Piazza del Popolo, on the stage near the Gruppo '900. The tastings will be held in a new location in the larger space in front of the former newsstand. This decision has been made to give the festival more breathing space, separate the different aspects of the event and offer each audience their own ideal space. The new wooden-framed stands have also been confirmed, designed to enhance the welcome for the farms and give the event a more uniform and contemporary look.

The nine-day programme brings together wine, culture, music and tradition: from official ceremonies in the Council Chamber to photography and art exhibitions, from the market fair to ‘Bacco e Motori’, from musical evenings in Piazza del Popolo featuring I Beat Struscione Band, Funk A Bestia and DJ sets by Gina DJ, Nejo DJ and Purple DJ, to the Montespertoli Pianoday by the Nuova Filarmonica Amedeo Bassi, right through to the Journey in the Planetarium at the San Giuseppe Astronomical Observatory in Livizzano.
