Buongiorno Ceramica is a nationwide celebration of Italian ceramics, which, towards the end of May, turns the spotlight on all those towns and cities that see ceramic art as part of their heritage and identity.
An opportunity – on 23 and 24 May – to get to know the leading figures in the sector – master craftsmen, young artists and designers – up close, following themed itineraries that bring centuries-old traditions into dialogue with new forms of creative experimentation. A journey that allows visitors to discover not only the techniques and languages of contemporary ceramics, but also the deep connection between this artisanal expertise and the regions that preserve it.
Within our local area, the municipalities involved are Sesto Fiorentino, Impruneta and Florence, whilst the wider metropolitan area also includes Montelupo Fiorentino and San Casciano Val di Pesa.
The Buongiorno Ceramica programme ranges from exhibition tours to workshops.
For Sesto Fiorentino, this event also serves as a launchpad for the recently opened Sesto Ceramics Archive.
In Impruneta, the main role is played by the kilns, six of which are still in operation, and the Fornace Agresti, a symbol of the art of terracotta.
The full programme for the event is available on the Buongiorno Ceramica website.(in Italian only)
