Calcio storico, Historical football. The semifinals

On Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, 2026, the semifinals of the Calcio Storico Fiorentino (the "Historical Football", Florence’s best-known folk tradition) will take place, as usual, on Piazza Santa Croce.  On Saturday, the Reds of Santa Maria Novella will face off against the Greens of San Giovanni. As is tradition, the final will be played on June 24, during the celebrations for St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of Florence

The matches in Piazza Santa Croce (starting at 6:00 p.m.) will be preceded by impressive and spectacular historical parades winding through the streets of the city center.

Tickets for the semifinals will go on sale online starting Thursday, June 11, at 10:00 a.m.
